A revised application has been submitted following consultation responses and members’ recommendations at RBKC’s Major Development Committee meeting in July. The heights of the residential buildings have been lowered to allow for enhanced views from Holland Park and Kensington High Street. The ground and first floors of the High Street Building have been altered to create greater openness. The landscape proposal has been completely revised.

Welcome to the Parabola, site of the former Commonwealth Institute
The redevelopment of the site of the former Commonwealth Institute is an important project for the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and for London. It will bring back into use one of the capital's most iconic buildings whilst providing high quality family accommodation in landscaped grounds that complement and integrate into Holland Park and the surrounding area.

The development will create 2 public piazzas complementing a new cultural destination that will contribute to the long term vitality of Kensington High Street.
