• refurbishment and alterations to the Exhibition Building to provide galleries, with the intended uses being exhibition; auditorium and education; offices; restaurant and cafe; shop; and workshops;• removal of the administration block, covered walkway, water channel, grass sward and flagpoles;
• proposed use for the refurbished Exhibition Building is D1 (non-residential use);
• the erection of three residential buildings (High Street Building/ Garden Building/ Park Building) with basement space for parking, storage, and a leisure suite including pool / spa for use by residents only;
• 62 residential units will comprise 9 x one bedroom units, 13 x two bedroom, 28 x three bedroom; 11 x four bedroom and 1 x five bedroom units;
• ground floor of the High Street Building (closest to Kensington High Street), will include a shop and a ticket/reception area (Use Class A1/D1) linked with use of the Exhibition Building; as well as a shop or restaurant / café (Use Class A1/A3). The Garden Building and Park Buildings will be residential only;
• creation of a new public plaza on to Kensington High Street;
• creation of a new public space between High Street Building and Exhibition Building;
• creation of a new public space on the north-eastern corner of the site;
• 53 residents’ car parking spaces (including 6 disabled car parking spaces). 5 disabled car parking spaces for the Exhibition Building – 3 in the basement and 2 at ground floor level;
• service vehicle parking area and 11 motorcycle spaces at basement level;
• 112 cycle parking spaces, 62 in the basement for residents and 50 on the High Street plaza;
• re-use of the existing site access from Kensington High Street;
• hard and soft landscaping.
